The November Challenge I'm Giving Myself

Now that it is November, and we're heading toward Thanksgiving, it's time to start thinking about gratitude. I don't think one day will do it, do you? We really should devote the whole month to it. That's what I plan to do here for the next month. Every day I'll post about something I'm thankful for, from the glorious to the mundane.

Want to join me? Jump in on the comments and tell me what you are thankful for. Or, if you have your own blog, post there about something you are thankful for, and I'll link to you in a special section on my side-bar.

This is a great idea, Joyce. The first thing that comes to mind, of course, is to be thankful for my family and that they are all healthy and doing well. I'm also thankful for living in a country that gives me the opportunity to have a voice in how we are governed. We should all be thankful on Election Day!

By the way, you didn't identify the painting in your last post, but being a "good Lutheran," I recognize the 95 Theses being nailed to the door.

Rose, I had to put up a picture of Martin Luther for my church history buff son. We can't let Reformation day just go by without recognition! I knew a few people would recognize the subject of the painting.

Thanks for your thoughts on gratitude. I thought of my family right away, too, and there's a post coming for Election Day. I'm determined to write 30 posts, but I don't have any idea what they will all be. Should be interesting!

Hi Joyce,

The first thing that comes to mind is that I'm thankful for my son. We worked so hard and so long to get him and he really is a gift.

I recognized the event in the picture. I attend a very non-historical church, but I quickly figured out what it was. Thanks for the remembrance.

Hey, what a great idea. I'm going to do as much of this as I can, though I'm not sure I can promise that every post for the next 30 days will be on gratitude. But I promise I'll do at least one post a week on the subject. :)

Ruchi, Mel-Great! I've got you linked. Can't wait to read your posts!

Donna, it's kind of neat that people immediately think of their family members isn't it?

Joyce, I am late to the party and would like to play. I only blog 1-2x a week now and can't promise those few posts will be about gratitude - though it will play a background role. I promise to Facebook about it. Tweet about it. Oh, and that's our theme for the Blogging Bookworm this month so it works out nicely.

I appreciate that you always point out what matters, Joyce. Thank you for this.

I'm in for this. I thought for sure I had already commented, guess I'm losing it! I'll mention something I'm thankful for in each of my posts this month. Great idea! :)

Joyce,
Is it too late to jump on the bandwagon? I love your "Thankful" challenge and I'm planning on adding some gratitude posts over at Everdaywoman.
Thanks for a great idea!
