I'm having a great time patting myself on the back for getting the pumpkin pictures yesterday, instead of waiting until today. Hurricane Ike is hammering us with mucho inches of rain, and it's a swamp out there, though, of course, nothing like people on the Gulf have experienced. So, here's the latest update:
To see who else is strolling (or hiding from the rain!) go to The Quiet Country House.

So glad you got the photos yesterday! I can't get any photos today either. Way too much rain to take a camera out. The pumpkin under the blue tarp is really getting orange! I have some like that too, but on a tiny scale! :)
Hope all that rain won't hurt your pumpkin! I don't think they like rain, which is why he's under his umbrella, I would assume.
please come take a stroll...I had a surprise today!
I was thinking much the same thing last night as I tried to find some photos for today's post. Yesterday definitely wasn't the day to be out taking pictures!
I've never noticed the rocks or whatever placed under the pumpkins--are they rocks? That's a great idea; with all the rain we've had, the pumpkins surely would have gotten soft on the bottom otherwise.
Rose, he has them sitting on what appears to be styrofoam insulation boards. It's a great idea, because that won't rot either. I'll bet a lot of people could do that with pumpkins and squash is they wanted to.
I love looking at the continuing growth of these fabulous pumpkins :) I have no idea why they put a smile on my face...
