Oh wow! My squash have all succumbed to powdery mildew. I'll have to live vicarously now.
Oh, too bad about the squash. We get powdery mildew on lilacs and phlox, but I don't think I've seen it on veggies.
If these had been in my garden, the squash beetles would have gotten to them by now! One of these days I'm going to be driving through town and see this garden, and I'll just have to stop to see these mighty pumpkins for myself!
I've been "sort of" gone for a few days, so I'm catching up on reading posts. Good luck to your daughter in her auditions. I didn't know there were so many types of trumpets! I remember the days of squeaky clarinets and blaring trombones; unfortunately, my kids all gave up music before they got really good at it.

Rose, I'm mindful of not giving away my exact location, but the garden is within a block of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, if you want to hunt for it. I don't think too many people reading this blog are bent on evil, so I'm willing to give that much of a hint!
My back is better, at least enough so that I don't have to take the really strong pain killers. I did fell like I lost a few days , though.
Joyce, And people think we country-folk get our entertainment watching the grass grow. Nope, nope, they're wrong. It's pumpkins! :)
What fun! Thanks for strolling past your neighbors to share his wonderful pumpkins. I have only a struggling plant or two. Squash bugs have been terrible this year!
Aisling, it amazes me how much interest there is in the pumpkins, both here in town, and on the blog! I'm glad, because my yard is not doing anything interesting this year. Possibly because i've been ignoring it too much??
